Beyond Frosting

Frosting is a top layer of a cake which is sweet or creamy glaze which is generally made with liquid of sugar such as milk or water. There are some ingredients like white eggs, butter, cream cheese basically used for frosting. we can call it Icing too. It is mainly used to coat or decorate a cake. Which gives an awesome looks as well as taste too.

Sprinkles, real flowers or fondant flowers this type of decorations are often used on top of icing but now-a-days people can get the designed they want or themed cake for their celebrations and likewise icing too. So, Fondant Cakes are most demandable and usable for different type of icing layer. While some decorations are commonplace on birthdays or wedding cakes.

A basic frosting is called a glace which containing powdered sugar and water. This can be a basic flavored as per their desired. Such more complex flavors made with melting fat and buttercream which is basically called a Fondant. Some icing made with cream cheese or sour cream too. So, there are many type of frosting or icing can be found in cake baking or frosting history.

Basically frostings made from sugar but there are so many different combinations of frosting which is made with sugar. One of them is ‘Icing Sugar’ which is sprinkled on top of the cake which gives a look like a fresh snowfall.
